The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of Tk 2,125 crore to Bangladesh. The company is providing the loan mainly for social development and sustainable program inclusion and resilience development.
This information was given in a press release sent from ADB's Dhaka office on Friday (June 18).
Hiroko Uchimura-Shiroshi, ADB's senior social sector expert in South Asia, said debt would play a key role in the Corona crisis. Will indirectly play a role in poverty alleviation. This will strengthen the social security program.
The social security program will include institutional and policy reforms to address inter-sector problems in Bangladesh's social development. This includes increasing the coverage and efficiency of the social security system by improving the administrative skills of social security management.
Through the program, old age allowance for women above 62 years of age and allowance for widows, lonely and destitute women in 150 district units or upazilas will be increased. Its scope will be further extended to neglected women.
