Experts fear the loss of the mobile network system

Concerned people of the country's information technology department have expressed concern over the second wave of corona. Their idea is that the adverse effects of the second wave will fall directly on the information and technology sector.

Mobile networking systems in particular will suffer the most. Considering all these aspects, a letter has been sent to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to improve the quality of mobile network before the second wave of Corona. The letter was given by the Bangladesh Mobile Phone Subscribers Association yesterday. The letter, along with the BTRC chairman, said the only way to keep the country's economy, education, medicine, business, office-court, entertainment system, family ties, family network, network quality and provide fast enough data was on. As a guardian of customers in such a situation, your humble call to you can quickly improve the quality of telecommunications and broadband.

Mohiuddin Ahmed, president of the Bangladesh Mobile Phone Subscribers Association, said mobile subscribers have increased a lot recently. The demand for mobile internet has also increased. As mobile operators, customer demand for mobile internet has increased by 30 percent. The actual amount of information is more than 40 percent. And if Corona's influence grows, customer demand will increase by more than 50 percent. Then how will the operators handle that demand? Mohiuddin Ahmed said, people are still moving normally. The office-court is all open. If the second wave of corona hits, the normal movement of people will increase and the demand for consumer will increase. All in all, we have written to the BTRC to deal with the situation properly.

Meanwhile, in the letter given to the BTRC chairman, various arguments have been put forward by the association. In the letter, the BTRC chairman was asked how much the customers are suffering in the current telecom and internet services. In the last one year, all the activities of the country have been going on only through the development of technology and network of highways. But the condition of this highway is so bad now that it is difficult to explain in words. The quality improvement test that your organization has done shows that the amount of call drop has increased from 2 to -3.5. It takes 10-12 seconds for the customer to get the connection instead of 6 seconds. Numerous hassles, including mute calls, slow internet, inability to use data by purchasing data, and many more scams have been added. The letter said Grameenphone, the country's top service provider, had shut down its customercare amid the Corona epidemic. Today the quality of customer service has reached the lowest level - there is no doubt about it. With these grievances in mind, we were forced to issue a lawyer's notice on November 26 last year. Later, we will file a writ petition in the High Court, which is currently awaiting hearing.

It also said that the message of the second wave of corona is already being heard in the country. In this situation, if the quality of the network is not improved quickly and the speed of data on the Internet is not increased and adequate supply is not provided, then the situation may become more dire. There is no doubt that the education system has collapsed in the last one year due to the scarcity of internet due to high prices. Although telemedicine cooperated with us at that time, this service could not reach the rural marginal level. In 2019-2020 and 2021, the number of subscribers has increased by about 1 crore 25 lakh. Data usage has increased by about 35 percent. At present the demand has increased by about 50 percent. According to the concerned, the amount of waves used per customer in our country is insufficient. As one can see, the total wave of Grameenphone after buying waves through auction recently is 46.4 MHz. In other words, the wave that they will be able to use against their total 6 crore 61 lakh subscribers is 1 MHz wave against 20 lakh subscribers. However, GP's company Telenor is using one megahertz wave against one lakh subscribers in other countries. Robi Axiata 900, 1800 and 2100 bands together, the total wave is 44 MHz. Their current subscriber base is 5 crore 15 lakh. If we calculate, it stands at one megahertz wave for about 13 lakh subscribers. Banglalink's 900, 1800 and 2100 combined 40 MHz waves. At present they have about 36 million subscribers. That is one megahertz wave against about 10 lakh 70 thousand subscribers. And since the state-owned company Teletalk did not buy new waves, their position is the same as before. In contrast to Teletalk's 5.5 million subscribers, they use 25.2 MHz waves. That is 1 MHz wave against 2 lakh 15 subscribers. At present the total amount of waves used by 4 operators is 156 MHz. But in other countries it uses more waves than an operator. For these reasons, information and technology experts think that if the incidence of corona increases in the country, there is a fear that the mobile network system will break down. Source: Google
